Zoo Camp

When I posted yesterday about Sadie's Princess Dance Camp I realized I never posted about Elijah's Zoo Camp.  He has actually been to this camp 3 years now.  This year, since he's a "big boy" he was able to go 9-5 Monday - Friday! (The last 2 years he only went 9-12 Monday - Fri)  He went 2 weeks after Jack was born (which is probably why I forgot to post about it) every week that passes more and more of the fog lifts!  Ha!  I was too overwhelmed at the time to take daily pictures, but the Zoo sent me this group one.  He's in the back with the hat on.

He had a GREAT time.  He has said, for years, he wants to work with animals.  Now he says he wants to be a Zookeeper (and a Tennis player) when he grows up!  He went to the Feeding Frenzy week so he was able to learn about what the animals eat and even got to feed a few himself.  The day he got to feed the giraffe was his favorite!!  He's already talking about when he gets to go back next year!

Princess Dance Camp

About a month ago Lori Anne told me about a dance camp at a local studio called Princess Dance Camp.  The girls would dress up as a different Disney Princess every day, learn a dance, have a craft and a snack and get to meet the princess of the day.  It sounded right up Sadie's alley!  Unfortunately, when I looked into it it was just going to be too far out of our budget.  So I took a chance and emailed the director of the studio.  I told her my daughter HAD to be at that dance camp.  I told her Sadie is the girl she's most likely seen in HEB or around town dressed as a princess.  I asked her if there was any way she would give me a discount or if she was willing to barter.  I told her I teach CPR and asked if she wanted to certify herself or her instructors in exchange for Sadie being able to attend camp.  And what do you know...she said yes!!  So last week Sadie went to Princess Dance Camp every morning and had a wonderful time!

My little princess had a great time!  Every night we would lay out her princess dress for the next day and every morning she would wake up and put it on and tell me it was time to go to Princess Dance Camp and every afternoon she would show us all the dancing she learned.

Happy Independence Day!

We had a wonderful Independence Day....even though it didn't go exactly as planned.  We usually spend the day with my side of the family in Stephenville.  Stephenville has a good parade, then we usually have some sort of family activity.  Well this year my family decided to travel to Ft Worth to celebrate.  Since we had to be at the church that night we couldn't go along.  I searched and searched for a parade in the area.  I finally found a website that said Waco's annual parade starts downtown at 10am.  Our friends, The Shaws, were going to join us for the parade and then a cookout at our house.  (Side note: Lori Anne and I decided, the night before, to just have sandwiches since we had all the stuff between the two of us without having to go to the store.  When we told the men that was the plan they both said no.  We had to be proper Americans and cook out hamburgers.  Silly boys.")

Well, we got all 3 kids ready and out of the house and raced downtown to save a spot for the parade.  We got downtown about 9:45am...not a soul was there!  No parade!  We still don't know what happened.  The website was dated 2012...???  We decided to just go down the street to the park and let the kids play.  (Side note:  Lori Anne and I were told by our husbands that they were not upset at all at having to miss a parade.)

After playing for a bit we came back to the house and had a yummy cookout and some nice relaxing time spent together.

Happy Independence Day!

One Month and Counting!

I snapped a few pictures of Jack on the day he turned 1 month!  I can't wait to see how he grows and changes every month.
