Merry Merry Christmas!!

Getting started on Christmas 2012

Elijah and Sadie were very helpful.  All the ornaments were on the bottom half.  I kept trying to spread them out (even in the days after putting up the tree) only to have the kids get really upset and move them all back.

They were really cute, though.

The night before Christmas Eve Sadie threw up 3 times.  Each time we would get up and clean her, her bed, her carpet...it was horrible.  I was supposed to work on Christmas Eve, but got put on call which was fine with me since we were up so much during the night.  I spent the day taking care of Sadie.  Beau took the boys to Rosebud and I concentrated all my efforts on Sadie.  By bedtime she seemed like she would pull through, but I was starting to feel bad.  I went to bed hoping it was just in my head.  But when I woke up Christmas morning I knew it was going to be a bad day.

Christmas morning.  Look at all those presents!!

My baby boy!

I was already feeling really bad.  I sat up the video camera...but forgot to turn it on.  Beau gathered the kids around and read about the birth of Jesus out of the Bible...I forgot to take a picture.

Sadie went first...

(it was a princess horse and carriage)

Elijah was really excited...about everything.

A new basketball!

Her own helmet...

I got to go next.  This is how my gift was wrapped...and no...it wasn't wrapped by any of the kids.

Jack enjoyed some breakfast while we opened gifts.

100+ pieces of fake food for Sadie's kitchen...in retrospect...a horrible decision.

Jack's owl hat...

All the kids got Disney ornaments to remind us of our trip.

I gave Beau a blade to a table saw.  He is making that face because he doesn't have a table saw.
Little did he know I had one waiting for him in the porch!  He was really excited!

My babies getting their stockings.

Mom of the Year award winning moment...realizing (as I put the gifts out Christmas Eve) I didn't have a stocking for Jack.  We looked at those stocking for a month and no one realized there wasn't one for Jack!  I threw one together in a few minutes.  I promise I'll have one next year!

Loaded with lots of awesome stuff!

Very exciting.

Oh my gosh.  Eat. Him. Up.

Elijah is ALWAYS checking up on Jack.

I think he had a great first Christmas...

What an awesome rubber ducky!!

I had bought all the stuff to make a wonderful Christmas morning breakfast!  Rosemary and brown sugar bacon, apple and cream cheese stuffed french toast and scrambled eggs.  But I was feeling so bad I just went back to bed.  I think Beau made the kids some breakfast.  I stayed in bed until it was time to leave for Rosebud.  I'm really hoping Christmas 2013 is better.  Being sick was awful, but I tried to focus on the fact that I have a happy, (mostly) healthy family.  We are blessed beyond measure.  Merry Christmas!

Our last day of Disney World

On our last day at Disney World we went to Hollywood Studios.  We only had half a day, so we didn't get to do much, but we still had a lot of fun!

Meeting Donald Duck

 Such a cool kid.

Jake.  Sadie had completely checked out at this time.  She was beyond exhausted.  She was not interested in meeting any characters.

Elijah was still excited to see all his "friends"!

Green Army Man (Toy Story).  At one point he even started doing pushups in the middle of the walkway.

Mr Incredible...

Mr Freeze...action shot.

Welcome to the gun show!

We watched Beauty and the Beast...

Jack was fading fast, but welcomed any attention he could get.  While we waited in line for Elijah to meet another character Jack turned on the charm for a Disney employee.

I cannot explain to you how good this child did on this trip.  He totally went with the flow the whole trip.  Such a happy baby.

Our last character stop was Phineas and Ferb.  I don't know why Elijah was so excited to meet them.  I've never allowed him to watch their show.

We missed our Indiana Jones show because the kids had had enough and needed some lunch.  After lunch Sadie was whining that she was too tired to walk.  Poor thing...she was taking 3 steps to my one step and I was exhausted.  I picked up Jack so Sadie could ride in the stroller.  I laid him down in my arms and within a few steps he went lax.

On our way out of the park we found out there was going to be a parade.  We decided that would be our last hoorah.  While we waited they wanted to film a flash mob.  Elijah and Beau learning the dance...

 Sully kicking off the parade...

Jesse and Bullseye...
From Hollywood Studios we rode back to the hotel, got our luggage and headed for the airport.   We left the 70 degree weather of Florida and flew into the 40 degree weather of Texas. We had a great time and made memories to last a lifetime!  We're already talking about our next trip!

Disney World Day 4

Day four of Disney World we all decided to split up and go our separate ways.  We decided to spend the day in Animal Kingdom.

We met King Louie and Baloo...

 Pocahontas

We even went on an open bus safari.  The giraffes were SO close...Elijah LOVED it!

Pluto and Goofy...

For dinner we went to The Grand Floridian and had dinner with Cinderella and her family.  There was a giant buffet.  It was So good.  It had everything from pizza to stew to sushi to Indian food!

Lady Tremaine was my favorite.  She was really funny...very I'm-too-good-for-this-attitude.

Cinderella!!!  I love how Sadie has her hands...she was SO excited!

 Prince Charming...

Henley and Cinderella comparing notes on being a princess...

Anastasia was a nut.  Sadie didn't want to get out of her seat (read: leave her dessert) to take a picture.

She was asking Elijah if he had a girlfriend.  When he said "no" she went on telling him how she lives in a big castle and if he's interested to just let her know...

Then she saw Jack and it was all over.

 He was pretty smitten too.

 Blowing kisses.

The hotel had a life size ginger bread house.  It smelled so good!

We headed over to Hollywood Studios.  Jack and Elijah got to meet Lightning McQueen and Mater.

Just outside the lights tour there was a nativity scene.  It reminded me that it was Christmas time.  It was such a nice thing to see.

This was the last full day of our trip.  By this time we were completely exhausted but still having a blast!
