Jack 12 months

I am so excited to make a collage of all these pics of Jack!!

The older he got the harder it got to do this little photo shoot!

He thought it was a funny game.  I would put the owl in the basket with him and he would throw it out and laugh.

It did not go with my photography plans.  Oh well, he was having a blast!

And he was really proud of himself.

He is so much fun!!

I love this face.  I kept on and kept on trying to get him to sit still on the blanket.  I finally handed him my camera to keep him still and he made this face.

And we're done here.

12 months!!!  We made it!!!

Here are Jack's 12 month stats:

22lbs 9oz = 41%

30 1/4"  =  51%

Head 18.5"  =  64%

Look HOOs One!!

My baby is ONE!!!  How did this happen!!??!!  I'm all into owls right now so I chose an owl theme since this may be the only birthday party theme I get to choose.  I used my new machine to make the invitations.  They were a lot of work, but I think they turned out cute...

"A year has gone by, how time has flown, we can't believe how our Jack has grown.  We're having a party, we hope you will come, to celebrate our little boy turning one. On Saturday, June 1st come to our nest.  Your presence will make this party the best.

I found a lot of owl themed party foods on pinterest, but I think the cake was my favorite was my idea for the cake!!

It was a chocolate log cake with raspberry jam and real whipped cream.  Iced with butter cream.  Yummo!!

These owls looked much cuter on Pinterest than they turned out.  I think they look more like angry birds.  ha!!

 Veggie tray...

 I loved the pineapple owl.

The owls on the branches had fun facts about Jack...
1. Jack has 2 teeth.
2.  Jack weighs 23 pounds.
3.  Jack loves his brother and sister.
4.  Jack's favorite song is "If you're happy and you know it."
5.  Jack has never had a haircut.

I thought these owl favor bags turned out really cute! They had rice crispy treats in them.

We sat around and enjoyed our snacks and company.

 Time for cake!!!

I was glad Jack didn't reach out and touch the flame like Elijah did!!

Happy 1st birthday, Jack!!!

After cake Jack opened some gifts...though he seemed much more interested in the tissue paper than the gifts.

Pepaw  helped Elijah with his Lego project.

The next morning I was looking for Jack to get ready for church...

Sneaky boy.

This child makes me so happy!!  I can't wait for many more birthday parties with my little man!!

The Kindness Club

This past spring Elijah came home from school with a letter.  It stated that he had been nominated to be in the Kindness Club for his Primary School.  It went on and on to say this club is by nomination only and is for kids who exemplify kindness and compassion for everyone around him.  I was so proud.  That is exactly who he is.  He was given a tshirt and was told to look forward to being able to represent his class in the future.

That day came when the school had Rachael's Challenge.  Everyone had made kindness links and everyone in the kindness club would be carrying the links.  He was so excited!!

There he is...right in the middle.

The primary school's Kindness Club Members.

My favorite thing was what Elijah said about being told he was nominated for the club.  He told me, "Mom, they said I'm responsible and resourseable!"  Ha!!  He wanted to call everyone.  He kept saying "everyone is going to be so impressed of me!!"  I love him.

Best friends forever...and ever...and ever.

These girls are so cute.  Maci and Sadie are only about 6 weeks apart.  They have been fast friends since we met the Shaws in the winter of 2009/2010.  I love watching them together.  While seeing them together gives me such joy it also keeps a know in my gut from fear of the next thing they're going to get into!!

At church one Sunday I asked the girls to give me silly faces. This is what I got...
I beg of you to click on either of these pics and zoom in on Sadie's face.  This has been weeks ago, but I still laugh out loud every time I see it!!

For their birthdays Aimee made them matching dresses.  We tried so so hard to get a pic of them in their dresses.  While we weren't able to get a single good picture of the dresses I managed to get some cute ones that really show their personalities.

I think my favorite thing about watching them together is that it is REALLY like watching mini Erica and mini Lori Anne together!!

I love these two so much.  I really hope they are able to stay friends for life.  I'm enjoying so much watching them grow up together.

Jack at 11 months

These photo shoots are getting harder and harder.  This boy loves to just sit and relax in a comfy lap.  People are always amazed how cuddly and content he can be to be held.  However, when I get out my camera he becomes very active!  This photo shoot was way after bedtime, but he happy as can be.

Getting so big!

"Hold on, Mom, let me get more comfortable."

And that was about as long as that lasted.

"I'm done with this, Mom."

This was the only way I could get him to sit still on the blanket...give him my phone.

But it quickly became much more entertaining than my camera or all the noises and sing songing I could do to keep his attention.

And that was the end of the photo shoot.

Oh well, I love this boy.
