5 Months and Counting

My boy is growing...and growing...and growing!

Just look at that belly!!  He definitely has a dunlap!

"Who you callin' Dunlap?! You want a knuckle sandwich?!"

His latest thing is sticking his tongue out.  It seemed like one day he realized he could do it and now he does it all the time!

I do this move in Pilates...its tough...he's got it down.

Elijah just HAD to take a picture with him.  They are really in love.  I love watching them!
So we can remember in 20 years...

Lately we have not been getting much sleep.  Jack has been up every few hours all night with POOP! Grrr...We've had a few people tell us its because he's teething...Beau thinks its because we're feeding him too many veggies at dinner....I don't know.  All I do know is I'm sleepy and I'm tired of changing poopy diapers all day and all night!  One day last week in 24 hours he pooped 10 times!!

Time for a check up!

I have been postponing this blog because I can't find the information sheet from Elijah's appointment.  But I can't hold off any longer...it must have been thrown away.

The check up started off with Elijah getting his blood pressure checked.  It was perfect.

Then he got his hearing checked...

And his vision...

everything was great.  He weighed 48 lbs (70th percentile) and is 3 feet 11 inches (79th percentile).   She said everything about his looked great.  During the checkup Sadie was upset she wasn't getting examined too (she was there to get her flu vaccine).  So the doctor gave her a quick "check up" too.  Then it was time for their flu vaccines.  They are both old enough to get the mist.  They were sitting together on the bench when the nurse came in.  She stated explaining to Elijah what she was going to do and I could tell Elijah was getting upset.  I told him I would come sit by him and I promised it was not going to hurt.  He was still too upset.  Then the best part.  Sadie told the nurse "I'll go first!"  So she got her mist and turned to Elijah and said "Its okay Bubba, it didn't hurt!"  Ha!

I. Love. This. Kid.

Hut Hut Halloween

This Halloween we did our family costumes again.  Beau: Football coach.  Elijah: Football player.  Sadie: Cheerleader.  Jack: Football.  Me: Football Tee...you know...the thing that holds the football!

It took a while to get a good pic as you can see...

I don't even remember what we were laughing about, but this is a pretty good representation of our family...

After going around to all the trunks to get their treats the kids played games...

And the girls played on the playground...

Love these girls...

We even had a game at our "trunk".  We had to do something since we didn't decorate!!

My little football player...

I told him to give me his meanest football player face...

A few nights later I entered a costume party with my Zumba girls.  We won...but how could we not...check out our awesom iPod costumes...

Does this apple make my butt look big?

Timbercreek Fall Festival

We went to the second annual Timbercreek Fall Festival at my parents' neighborhood last weekend.  They really go all out for all the kids and grandkids of the kids of the neighborhood families.

The kids got to decorate cookies...

Beautiful girls...

There was a great bounce house for the big kids...

And a smaller bounce house for the smaller kids...

And a Papaw there to hold the baby!

Don't forget face painting...

It was a little much for this little guy...

We had a great time even though my mom was on the couch the whole time (after her retina surgery).  It is always so much fun when my whole family can be together.  We do a lot of laughing and I'm always sad when it has to end.  Bring on Fall!!

Sea Creature Sixth Birthday!!

I didn't realize I hadn't posted about Elijah's birthday party.  He said this year he wanted a sea creature party with super hero gifts.  Ha!  So I got busy planning our sea creature party.

His cake...

We had octopus dogs...

Sea turtle eggs...

I found some penguin shaped cheese crackers!

Ocean water...

Gulf of Mexico water (crack myself up!)...

Chili...

The favors were whale crackers.  I made a tag that said "We're whaley glad you came."  Ha!

His friends...Ben, Grant, Camden, Robert, Logan, Lindsey, Koby, Hailye, Dylan, Sadie, Maci, Kash

I said no gifts...no one listened.

This year Aimee and Gary were able to come and bring the boys!  They stayed for the night after the part.  We had a great time!!  The kids had a blast playing together and we had a great time catching up.  We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends.

Happy Birthday to the most precious, sensitive, loving boy.  My life has been forever blessed by him.

My boy is 6...oh my!

My boy turned 6!!  For his class I made a giant cookie cake (I guess this is a tradition)....

I took him lunch on Friday.  He asked for a Wacky Pack from Sonic with a hamburger and tator tots!  He kept saying "Thanks for coming and eating lunch with me, Mom.  This is the best day!"  I love him.

Notice the shirt?  I made it for him for his Sea Creature Party!

I cannot believe what a wonderful, sensitive, smart young man he is growing up to be.  My life is blessed daily by him.

But I'm not sure what's up with the weird smile!  Ha!

The Beast is 4 months old!

This child is such a joy!! I'm am really enjoying him (which works out really well). To say he is growing would be an understatement! Check out these pictures and then we'll talk.

These were Jack's stats from his 4 month appointment.
Weight: 16 lbs 13 inches 80%
Height: 25.5 inches 66%
Weight for length 78%
Head 70%
I told her he looks like a 6 month old. She said his size is average for a 6 month old! Yikes! I have a pinched nerve in my arm (most likely from carrying him around) that has caused my thumb and first two fingers on my right hand to be numb most of the time! We started solids early...a liquid diet just wasn't cutting it. Actually we started mostly due to his reflux, but he handled it so well we just went forward with it. As of today he's had rice, oatmeal, apples, banana, carrots, pumpkin, peas, broccoli, pear, peaches and prunes! He loves it! He can almost sit up, never stops kicking his legs and is constantly smiling. Love. Him. To. Pieces.
